Jindal Announces Candidacy for GOP Nomination

July 9, 2028 — U.S. Sen. Bobby Jindal (R-La.) today announced his plans to seek the GOP nomination for president, a move that could derail the Vice President Eileen Wright hopes of succeeding President George Prescott Bush.

In a press conference in the middle of New Orleans’ Bourbon Street, Jindal said he will run in the emergency GOP presidential primary election scheduled for later this month.  Both the Republican and Democratic parties are rushing to get nominees secured due to President Bush’s decision against running for re-election. Bush was out of office for about two months this year when Google purchased the U.S. government, then sold it back after concluding the assets were too much trouble.

Although Wright has not formally announced her plans, party insiders have been expecting her to launch a campaign by the end of this week.

But Wright remains wildly unpopular, and the entrance of the popular Jindal into the race could prompt her to rethink her political plans, says FU political analyst Ima Fulavitt.

Jindal is the nation’s first Indian-American senator. He is expected to generate widespread support from the party’s evangelical arm because of his opposition to abortion, gay marriage, robot marriage, and marriages between humans and robots.  Jindal was the author of a bill that declared marriage to be the union between two carbon-based life forms.
