July 14, 2028 – Brett Favre says he’s prepared to sue the National Football League if it refuses to allow his younger clone to sign as the Green Bay Packers’ starting quarterback.

“There currently exists no official ban on a clone playing in the NFL, and therefore no reason to prohibit the Packers’ from signing Favre’s clone,” said the Hall-of-Famer’s attorney, Abraham Shark.

Favre, 58, traveled to Seoul in 2026 to visit the Cochung Cloning, Inc., where scientists extracted his DNA and created an embryo of the quarterback.  Cochung then accelerated Favre’s growth to the age of 27, which was his age when the Packers beat the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XXXI.

The Packers attempted last year to sign Favre’s clone, known as Favre 2.0, but met an immediate objection from the league.  NFL Commissioner Bernie Kosar said that because cloning remains illegal in the United States, the league cannot allow a human copy to play.

But Shark pointed out that Favre 2.0 was created overseas, and should not be discriminated against based purely on his artificial heritage.

[...] Favre had said last month that he would sue the NFL if it refused to let his clone, created two year… Favre had accused the league of unlawful discrimination against an artificially created person.  The NFL countered that since clones are illegal in this country, they could not allow the Favre facsimile, Brett 2.0, to play.  Favre says his clone would rather be a hairdresser than play pro ball.
